Week of April 20

I hope you have all recovered from the Dallas trip. What a whirlwind of fun!

I didn't post last week, but we did accomplish some learning last week, even with the three day trip in the middle! On Monday, we took a test. Those came home on Friday and should have been signed by a parent/guardian over the weekend. That counts as a homework grade!

Overall results on the test were, as follows:
There were fifteen A's, with seven earning 100%. The overall average was a 83.3% with 46 kids having completed the test. Please remind your child to pay attention to what is listed on the study guide as he/she prepares for the test! Some could have done much better had they studied all the topics covered on the test.

We started our final unit last Friday: body systems. I am starting with the circulatory system; we will learn heart anatomy, blood flow, and blood types. We will do a blood typing lab next week. We will also introduce digestive system this week.

For those of you wondering: My goal is to also introduce nervous system and reproductive system before the end of the school year. We have dissections for this unit too. Yes, we have much to cover in the next few weeks, but the kids really enjoy body systems (as do I!) so this is truly a "fun" way to end the school year!

As always, I'm an email away if you have concerns and/or questions!
